WCS works in the Russian Far East, particularly Primorsky Krai (or Province), southern Khabarovsky Krai, and the Kamchatka Peninsula. Our Amur tiger conservation efforts encompass the whole of Russian tiger habitat – all of Primorsky Krai and southern Khabarovsky Krai. Since 1992 the village of Terney, at the edge of the Sikhote-Alin Biosphere Reserve in northern Primorsky Krai, has been the center for our Siberian Tiger Project activities. We conduct field research on Far Eastern leopard and Amur tiger ecology in Southwestern Primorsky Krai, and on brown bear ecology on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
WCS’s Russian representative office is located in the city of Vladivostok, the capital of Primorsky Krai.
